Mark Thomas

Mark Thomas is the CTO and Co-founder of Sequin Financial, a fintech startup based in San Francisco. He established the Y Combinator-backed company in April 2021 alongside co-founder Vrinda Gupta to develop a specialized debit card and financial platform addressing gender inequality in credit. Thomas brings over 20 years of technology industry experience to the role, having previously served as a Software Development Manager and Technical Lead at PayPal and a Software Engineer at VeriSign. Before launching Sequin Financial, he held chief technology officer positions at Pearachute from 2017 to 2021 and LittleLane from 2015 to 2017, following his graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from UC Berkeley. His current professional focus centers on leveraging his payment systems expertise to build autonomous financial platforms that expand consumer credit access.
