Matt Oppenheimer, co-founder of Remitly, is stepping down as CEO of the digital remittance company he built over the past 13 years.
Remitly went public in 2021 and has grown into one of the largest digital money transfer platforms, processing billions in cross-border payments annually. Oppenheimer's departure follows a pattern of founder-CEOs stepping back from companies that have matured past the hypergrowth phase.
The company has not yet named a successor. Shares dipped 3% on the news.
