Villi Iltchev is the Founder and Managing Partner of Category Ventures, a $160 million early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Before launching this fund, he served as a Managing Director at Two Sigma Ventures and a General Partner at August Capital. Earlier in his career, Iltchev held leadership positions at Box and LifeLock, and worked as a Vice President at Salesforce, directing investments and acquisitions involving more than thirty companies. His investment portfolio includes prominent enterprise software and developer tool companies such as GitLab, HubSpot, Gusto, and MuleSoft. He holds an MBA from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, a Master of Accountancy from Clemson University, and a BS from Erskine College. Iltchev leverages over two decades of experience to focus on early-stage enterprise software, developer tools, and infrastructure startups.
