Radu Mazilu

Radu Mazilu is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of PermitPortal, an artificial intelligence operating system for pre-construction based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2024, the two-employee enterprise automates complex site selection, entitlements, and permitting workflows for commercial real estate and construction developers. PermitPortal is backed by Y Combinator as a participant in its Fall 2024 accelerator batch and has secured additional early-stage investment from Rebel Fund. Prior to launching his current venture, Mazilu served as a founding engineer at Fleek, another Y Combinator-backed startup, and previously developed 700 megawatts of utility-scale clean energy projects across Europe. He earned his degree from University College London in 2019, building a foundation in complex systems. Mazilu’s professional background combines technical software engineering with physical infrastructure development, driving his current focus on modernizing the historically manual real estate development pipeline.
