Miles Lasater is the CEO and Founder of Purpose Built, an early-stage venture studio based in the New Haven, Connecticut area. Previously, he co-founded the fintech company Higher One, which he helped scale to serve over two million students, generating $200 million in annual revenue with 750 employees before its 2010 initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange. Lasater also co-founded the civic tech platform SeeClickFix, which was acquired in 2019, and subsequently served as a venture capitalist at F-Prime Capital. He holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Yale University, where he has taught venture capital courses, and is a Kauffman Fellow who serves on the board of ConnCorp. His current focus centers on early-stage venture capital, social entrepreneurship, and building purpose-driven startups that emphasize human performance and economic opportunity.
