Michael Marquez

Michael Marquez is the Managing Partner at Construct Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm based in San Francisco, California. Before assuming his current position, he served as a Principal at the firm from 2018 to 2022 and previously held operational leadership roles at technology companies including Cruise. He currently oversees more than $200 million in assets under management and recently led the $100 million close of Construct Capital's Fund III in 2025. His investment portfolio encompasses over 20 companies, and he joined the board of directors at Groq during its $2.8 billion valuation funding round in early 2024. Marquez earned an MBA from the UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics from UC Davis. His current investment focus primarily centers on artificial intelligence infrastructure, industrial technology, and B2B enterprise software.
