Michael Broughton

Michael Broughton is the founder and operator of Growth Sync, an early-stage social commerce venture based in Los Angeles, California. Previously, he founded ALTRO, a financial technology platform that raised $23 million in venture funding and developed the first tri-bureau $75 tradeline product before being acquired in 2024. Under his leadership, the ALTRO application reached the top three in the App Store, launched nationwide in partnership with Discover, and earned recognition on the cover of Forbes. Broughton is a 2020 Thiel Fellow, an alumnus of Y Combinator's S20 cohort, and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the USC Credit Union. Additionally, he is an active angel investor backing founders who build startups focused on social impact. His entrepreneurial background centers on developing consumer finance solutions, while his current focus targets the expanding social commerce market.
