Matt Rice is a Partner at Ballast Point Ventures, where he has led the firm's healthcare investing practice since 2004. Before joining the venture capital firm, he worked in the Healthcare Investment Banking group at Raymond James Financial and managed strategic alliances for the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Virginia. In his current capacity, Rice serves as a board director for nine organizations, including Medsender, Careviso, PaceMate, and St. Joseph’s Hospitals, while acting as a board observer for Carterra. He previously represented the firm on the boards of three additional portfolio companies, including MolecularMD and Innocutis. His current investment focus remains concentrated on scaling enterprises across the biotechnology, medical technology, and health services sectors.
