Matt Mastracci

Matt Mastracci is the Managing Partner at Real Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Before transitioning to venture capital, he co-founded and served as the Chief Technology Officer of Lightspeed, a commerce platform that achieved a multi-billion dollar market capitalization following its 2019 initial public offering. Mastracci holds a degree in Electrical and Software Engineering from the University of Calgary, providing a technical foundation for his investment strategy. At Real Ventures, he oversees a portfolio of over 100 companies and recently helped raise a $100 million fund in March 2024 targeting artificial intelligence and climate technology, which included participating in the seed round for autonomous trucking startup Waabi. His current focus remains on bridging technical engineering expertise with seed-stage capital to scale North American enterprise software, fintech, and AI startups.
