Marcus Whitney is the Founding Partner at Jumpstart Health Investors and the Founder and Managing Partner of Jumpstart Nova, based in Nashville, Tennessee. Through Jumpstart Health Investors, he oversees a venture capital portfolio of more than 150 early-stage healthcare companies and has managed over 10 successful corporate exits. He launched the $55 million Jumpstart Nova Fund I in 2020 to invest exclusively in Black-founded healthcare startups, and he recently introduced Fund II in 2024. Prior to his venture capital career, Whitney worked as a software developer at HealthStream before co-founding Clariture Health, which was later acquired by Trilliant, and becoming a minority owner of the Nashville SC Major League Soccer franchise. Selected for the Aspen Institute Health Innovators Fellowship, his current focus remains on financing and scaling pre-seed and seed-stage healthcare technology enterprises.
