Jonny Hsu

Jonny Hsu is the Co-founder of Blank Bio, a Y Combinator-backed biotechnology startup developing computational foundation models for RNA therapeutics. Before launching the company approximately eight months ago, he served as an early employee leading product and corporate strategy at Valence Discovery, an artificial intelligence drug design firm spun out of Mila. Following the May 2023 acquisition of Valence Discovery by publicly traded Recursion, Hsu remained with the organization to help build Valence Labs, the acquiring company's dedicated artificial intelligence research engine. He originally trained as a biochemist and earned his academic degree from the University of Waterloo. At Blank Bio, his platform enables pharmaceutical companies to simulate complex biological experiments and optimize mRNA sequence prediction. Hsu's career centers on the intersection of artificial intelligence and drug discovery to accelerate the development of novel genetic medicines.
