Elad Gil

Elad Gil is a San Francisco-based solo venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and the cofounder and Chairman of the health technology company Color. Before raising a $1 billion independent solo venture fund in 2022, he served as Vice President of Corporate Strategy at Twitter following its acquisition of his startup MixerLabs, started the mobile product team at Google, and earned a Ph.D. in biology from MIT. Gil has executed over 300 startup investments and backed more than 40 unicorn companies, including recognizable industry leaders like Stripe, Airbnb, and Coinbase. He authored the widely cited startup scaling books "High Growth Handbook" and "Forge," and advised major tech firms like Pinterest during their hypergrowth phases. His current investment strategy focuses heavily on artificial intelligence, enterprise software, and healthcare startups, providing significant capital to emerging generative AI platforms like Perplexity AI.
