Chioma Okotcha

Chioma Okotcha is the Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Payhippo, a fintech startup based in Lagos, Nigeria, and London, United Kingdom. Under her leadership, the Y Combinator-backed company participated in the S21 batch, raised a $3 million seed round in 2021, and has disbursed tens of thousands of loans to small and medium-sized enterprises across Africa. In 2022, she facilitated Payhippo's acquisition of Maritime Microfinance Bank to expand its financial product offerings and was subsequently recognized on the Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 list. Prior to her entrepreneurial career, she served as a Governance Advisor at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and earned a Master's in Public Administration from Sciences Po. Her current focus remains on bridging the credit gap for African businesses by leveraging technology to scale financial access in emerging markets.
