Baran Özkan

Baran Özkan is the Singapore-based co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Flagright, an AI-native anti-money laundering and fraud prevention platform. Since launching the Y Combinator-backed enterprise in 2021, he has directed the firm's product strategy, helping secure a $4.3 million seed round and expanding its operational footprint to serve financial institutions across more than 30 countries. Prior to establishing Flagright, Özkan engineered software systems within the highly regulated healthcare insurance sector and subsequently served as Director of Product at a global remittance company. He holds the globally recognized Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist credential from ACAMS and actively participates in the broader technology ecosystem as an angel investor in startups such as xPay. His current professional focus centers on deploying no-code AI agents to automate transaction monitoring workflows and modernize financial crime prevention infrastructure for global banking institutions.
