Abhay Kalra

Abhay Kalra is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Avent, an AI-powered industrial commerce startup based in San Francisco, California. At Avent, he leads a two-person team developing artificial intelligence agents designed to automate quoting and order entry processes for manufacturers and distributors. The enterprise software company is currently participating in Y Combinator as part of the accelerator's Summer 2025 batch under the guidance of Primary Partner Brad Flora. Prior to his entrepreneurial career, Kalra studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley. During his academic tenure, he conducted specialized computer vision research focused on defect detection within manufacturing environments. He subsequently gained direct industry experience working as an operator in the manufacturing and industrial distribution sectors. Kalra's current focus centers on leveraging his technical background in software engineering to modernize legacy supply chain and industrial commerce operations.
