The organization's origins trace back to Theda Clark Peters, born in 1871 to C.B. Clark, co-founder of Kimberly & Clark Co. Witnessing the severe lack of local medical facilities and its human cost, she recognized the critical need for accessible healthcare. Tragically, upon her death in childbirth in 1903, Theda Clark Peters’ explicit instructions led her brother, C.B. Clark Jr., to fund the establishment of Theda Clark Memorial Hospital, which opened its doors in 1909.

ThedaCare serves over 600,000 residents across 17 counties in Wisconsin, providing essential care to diverse patient populations.
