The Community Development Venture Capital Alliance

The Community Development Venture Capital Alliance (CDVCA) is a network supporting community development venture capital (CDVC) investing. It assists CDVC funds in providing equity capital to businesses in underinvested markets. This capital targets market-rate financial returns, creating quality jobs, wealth, and entrepreneurial capacity. CDVCA manages its Central Fund and makes direct growth investments in alignment with its mission.

CDVCA formed in 1993, incorporating as a not-for-profit in 1995. Its origin stems from various CDVC fund representatives meeting to share experiences and address common concerns. Recognizing funds were "reinventing the wheel" regionally, they established a forum for idea exchange, founding the Alliance as a vital practitioner platform. This collective insight fostered the organization’s creation and subsequent growth.

CDVCA invests in businesses within low-income and emerging market communities, prioritizing quality job creation with living wages, comprehensive benefits, and wealth creation opportunities.
