NRMA

NRMA, the National Roads and Motorists' Association, is an Australian member-owned mutual organization that delivers comprehensive motoring and travel services. The organization was formally established in 1920 as the Australian National Roads Association. Its inception stemmed from an insight into the necessity for improved road infrastructure and equitable legislation to fund such developments. Early leadership included individuals like W.J. McKinney and D.M. Cooper, instrumental in its formation, with former Prime Minister Chris Watson also serving as president in its nascent years. The association was later restructured into the National Roads and Motorists' Association in 1924.
