Laidlaw Scholars Ventures (LSV) is a for-profit venture capital fund based in London, UK, that invests in early-stage startups founded and run by Laidlaw Scholars. The firm manages a £50 million fund, approximately $50 million, providing financing, support services, and access to a network of expert advisors and mentors to accelerate portfolio companies. LSV has made notable investments, including $650K in fintech platform Guava, led by CEO Kelly Ifill, and $750K in infrastructure technology firm Kodifly. All profits generated by LSV are directed back to the Laidlaw Foundation to fund educational programs aimed at breaking cycles of poverty and developing ethical leaders. Key figures include Chief Investment Officer Niall Santamaria and Susanna V. Kempe in leadership, with Lord Laidlaw founding the parent Laidlaw Foundation.
