Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) is a government-owned non-banking financial institution that promotes, develops, and finances renewable energy projects and energy efficiency initiatives across India, based in New Delhi. Operating as India's largest pure-play green financing NBFC, IREDA provides loans and financial assistance for technologies such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass, and waste-to-energy. The organization achieved Navratna status and was rated 'Excellent' by the Department of Public Enterprises with a score of 93.50 in FY 2022-23. It reported a Profit After Tax of ₹1,197 crore in FY observed in March 2025, following its ₹1,000 crore initial public offering in November 2022. Leadership includes Chairman & Managing Director Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Director Finance Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, and Nominee Director Shri Padam Lal Negi. IREDA was incorporated on March 11, 1987, with no specific founder names publicly known.
