HyImpulse Technologies GmbH, founded in March 2018 by Dr. Christian Schmierer, Dr. Mario Kobald, Konstantin Tomilin, and Ulrich Fischer, develops suborbital and orbital launch services. Based in Neuenstadt am Kocher, Germany, the company utilizes innovative hybrid propulsion rockets with paraffin fuel and liquid oxygen oxidizer to provide cost-effective small satellite launches. This technology builds upon over 15 years of hybrid engine research originating from a University of Stuttgart student initiative. HyImpulse has secured over EUR 5 million in private investment from Rudolf Schwarz via Schwarz Holding GmbH, complemented by over EUR 5 million in EU and government research grants, totaling more than EUR 10 million. The organization, now with approximately 60 employees, successfully completed a 75 kN flight rocket engine test series, achieving Technology Readiness Level 7, and established a dedicated testing site in the Shetland Islands, UK.
