develops lightweight solar PV modules for commercial and industrial rooftops, enabling autoconsumption and energy cost control.
Heliup develops, produces, and commercializes lightweight solar PV modules for large commercial and industrial rooftops from its base in Le Bourget-du-Lac, France. Its patented technology, originating from CEA, utilizes ultra-thin glass and direct bonding to waterproofing membranes, achieving a 60% reduction in panel weight compared to conventional modules while ensuring high performance and insurance compatibility. The company, established in September 2022 by founders Yannick Veschetti, Julien Gaume, Laurent Prieur, and Pierre Ruols, has secured funding through two investment rounds, notably from KIC InnoEnergy. With approximately 30 employees, Heliup is constructing a 100 MWp annual capacity factory, equivalent to 500,000 m² per year, which is slated to be operational in the second half of 2024. This innovative approach has already earned them the Gold European Solar Startup Award 2025 for their Stykon panels and IEC certification in May 2023.
