Halcyon Fund

Halcyon Fund, through its various vehicles including Fund I and Fund II, operates as an investment entity dedicated to supporting impact-driven ventures. It strategically deploys capital into pre-seed and seed-stage companies across the Climate, Health, and EquityTech sectors. This approach directly addresses critical societal needs while fostering innovation in areas often overlooked by traditional funding sources. The fund also prioritizes supporting under-represented founders within its investment thesis.

The investment initiative originated from Halcyon, an accelerator, which identified a significant capital gap for under-represented founders and impact-focused businesses. Halcyon Fund I, established as a pilot, concluded its deployment in February 2022. Building on this foundation, Halcyon Fund II was launched in January 2024 by Kate Goodall, Halcyon’s Co-Founder and former CEO, and Dahna Goldstein, Halcyon’s former CIO. They subsequently formed Halcyon Venture Partners, which now manages both funds.

The fund primarily backs alumni ventures from Halcyon fellowships, alongside other aligned companies that fit its impact criteria. Its overarching mission is to amplify positive societal impact through strategic investments in its core sectors. Looking forward, the fund seeks to continually enhance its support for founders throughout their fundraising journeys, cultivate a broader investor network, and effectively facilitate investment opportunities for its portfolio companies.
