Ted Leonsis

Ted Leonsis is the CEO and Chairman of Monumental Sports & Entertainment, a sports and media enterprise based in Washington, D.C. Through this holding company, he owns and operates major professional sports franchises, including the NBA's Washington Wizards, the NHL's Washington Capitals, and the WNBA's Washington Mystics. Before transitioning to sports ownership, he served as President and COO of AOL from 1999 to 2001, helping scale the internet pioneer to a peak of over 30 million subscribers. As a founder of the venture capital firm Revolution LLC, he has overseen a portfolio of more than 100 investments, backing prominent consumer and technology brands such as DraftKings and sweetgreen. The Georgetown University alumnus currently focuses on integrating artificial intelligence and fan engagement technologies into the sports media landscape while managing his estimated $1.5 billion net worth.
