Global Cleantech Capital is an Amsterdam-based growth-stage venture capital firm that invests in technology-driven companies across the clean energy, mobility, smart cities, and fintech sectors. The firm focuses on accelerating the green transition by targeting high-growth businesses in carbon-intensive industries throughout Europe and North America. Across four successive investment vehicles, the organization has cumulatively deployed more than $900 million in capital to scale emerging market leaders. In February 2022, the firm closed its latest vehicle, GCC Fund III, at $75 million, and manages a current active portfolio of nine companies. Regulated by the Dutch Authority for Financial Markets, the firm provides equity and co-investment support to sustainable enterprises, including portfolio companies such as Nacero and Battolyser Systems. The investment firm was founded in 2006 by Dr. Paul Kloppenborg, Christie Franchi, and Joris Vos.
