FSD Africa Investments

FSD Africa Investments is the investment arm of a specialist development agency providing early-stage, risk-bearing capital to support green economic growth, and is based in Nairobi, Kenya. Backed by funding from the UK government, the non-profit organization deploys patient capital and technical assistance to stimulate financial market development across the continent. The firm actively supports governments, regulators, and policymakers while backing climate-focused commercial initiatives, including a £1 million investment in Africa Climate Ventures in May 2023 to develop regional carbon markets. Additionally, the organization executed a $3 million fund commitment in October 2023 alongside subsequent capital deployments in late 2024 to address climate change and poverty. FSD Africa Investments was established in 2012 by founding Chief Executive Officer Mark Napier, who currently leads the firm alongside Chief Investment Officer Anne-Marie Chidzero and board member Tokunboh Ishmael.
