Forty51 Ventures is a venture capital firm and biotech venture builder based in Basel, Switzerland, that forms new companies and invests in seed and early-stage biotechnology opportunities. The firm primarily targets underfunded biotech clusters across Switzerland, Germany, eastern France, northern Italy, and Austria, focusing on academic and pharmaceutical spin-outs in the late pre-clinical development phase. Operating as a lead or co-lead investor for European seed and Series A rounds, the firm announced the first close of its inaugural fund at $43 million in July 2022. The organization is currently actively building its fourth portfolio company alongside a network of limited partners and strategic advisors that includes Stable Asset Management, the Fischli Family, Alan S. Roemer, and Peter van Vlasselaer. Forty51 Ventures was founded in 2021 by Sara Núñez-García, Sascha Oliver Bucher, and Tamás Schweighoffer.
