Energy Transition Fund Rotterdam is a revolving investment vehicle based in Rotterdam, Netherlands, that provides capital to innovative companies and infrastructure projects advancing carbon reduction, the circular economy, and sustainable energy. The organization operates with a €100 million capital allocation for direct equity investments in regional scale-ups and an additional €30 million dedicated to sustainability loans for homeowners, small businesses, and owners' associations. Partially financed through municipal revenue generated from the sale of Eneco, the fund recycles its investment profits to continuously support new environmental initiatives across the metropolitan area. The primary equity investment portfolio is managed in partnership with regional developer InnovationQuarter, while the consumer and commercial loan distribution is administered by SVn. The fund was officially launched in June 2021 by the City of Rotterdam as part of its broader regional economic recovery and long-term sustainability program.
