Energy Capital Management is a private equity firm specializing in energy infrastructure investments, based in Summit, New Jersey. The firm manages private equity, private credit, and infrastructure funds focused on electricity markets, natural gas infrastructure, and large-scale sustainable decarbonization projects. Operating with a dedicated workforce of over 90 employees, the organization has successfully raised approximately $31 billion in total capital commitments from a global base of more than 600 limited partners. This scale builds upon the success of its initial flagship fund, which secured $2.25 billion in 2007. The firm has executed significant corporate buyouts alongside recognizable industry peers such as Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and TPG, and recently merged with Bridgepoint Group to form a broader private assets investment platform. Energy Capital Management was founded in 2005 by Doug Kimmelman, Thomas Lane, and Scott Helm.
