§ Private Profile · Waltham, MA, USA
Hardware-based cybersecurity technology for semiconductor and embedded systems that detects and blocks malicious processor instructions.
Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Dover Microsystems develops hardware-based cybersecurity technology and silicon IP solutions that enable processors to detect and block malicious instructions in real-time. The company's flagship product, CoreGuard, implements processor-level security oversight to address fundamental vulnerabilities inherent in the traditional Von Neumann computing architecture. The underlying technology was initially developed through a $25 million grant from the DARPA CRASH program, which had a total allocation of $100 million. This processor-based security approach successfully demonstrated immunity to the widespread Heartbleed cyberattack during a 2016 hardware proof-of-concept. Operating on a business-to-business licensing model, the firm provides its embedded systems security solutions to global semiconductor manufacturers and system integrators, securing NXP Semiconductors as its first commercial customer. Dover Microsystems was officially founded in April 2017 by core team members Jothy Rosenberg and Greg Sullivan.
