Cardiff Capital Region

Cardiff Capital Region (CCR) functions as a strategic economic development program, fostering sustainable growth and innovation across Southeast Wales. The initiative formally began in 2016 with the Cardiff Capital Region City Deal, an agreement formed by the UK Government, Welsh Government, and ten local authorities within the region. This foundational insight recognized the imperative for a unified, region-wide approach to address economic challenges and maximize collective strengths beyond localized efforts.

CCR primarily benefits businesses, communities, and residents throughout its ten local authority areas. Its long-term vision aims to transform the region into a prosperous economy, actively attracting investment and generating high-quality employment.
