Founded in 2016 by Melissa L. Bradley in Washington D.C., 1863 Ventures originated from recognizing persistent capital and support deficits for Black, Brown, and women entrepreneurs. Bradley established the organization to create structured pathways. These empower historically underserved communities to access vital resources, propelling high-potential businesses toward substantial growth.

The program serves "New Majority" entrepreneurs, especially Black, Brown, and women-owned businesses seeking expansion. 1863 Ventures' mission is to generate $100 billion in new wealth for this demographic by 2030. It aims to foster significant economic power and an inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem, unlocking enterprise potential and advancing community development.
