[Automattic](https://startupintros.com/orgs/automattic) launched an AI assistant for WordPress.com on February 17, 2026 that lets site owners make site-wide layout and style changes using natural language commands. The feature works inside the website, understanding its content and layout to execute changes like "add a contact page" or "add a testimonials section below this section."
The AI assistant doesn't require precisely tailored prompts — it understands contextual commands relative to the site's existing structure. It can adjust layouts, modify styles, generate text and images, and works with WordPress block themes.
