Zen Chu is the Faculty Director of MIT's Hacking Medicine Initiative, a Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan, and the Managing Director of Accelerated Medical Ventures, based in Brookline, Massachusetts. Prior to his current academic and investment roles, he served as the CEO of 3D-Matrix Medical Inc., leading the company to a 2011 IPO, and managed ventures for Harvard’s Wyss Institute and Hewlett-Packard. In 2010, he created the MIT Healthcare Ventures course, which has since educated over 1,000 students in medical entrepreneurship across multiple institutions including Yale University. Through Accelerated Medical Ventures, Chu has built an early-stage investment portfolio that includes notable digital health and technology companies such as PillPack, Abridge, and SoFi. His ongoing focus centers on advancing early-stage medical technology, digital health services, and medical artificial intelligence through venture capital investing and academic leadership.
