Zac Wellmer is the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Tupelo, a fintech marketplace for small business mergers and acquisitions based in San Francisco, California. He established the two-person software company in 2020 alongside co-founder George Wellmer, subsequently participating in the Y Combinator W21 batch the following year. Prior to this venture, he served as the Computer Vision Lead at Atollogy, Inc. from 2017 to 2020 and completed specialized machine learning internships at Wolt and issuu. Wellmer earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Michigan State University before completing a Master of Philosophy in Artificial Intelligence at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is currently pursuing a doctorate at the same institution, maintaining a technical focus on the intersection of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and financial marketplace platform development.
