Yo Shibata

Yo Shibata is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Tailor, a technology startup where he currently directs strategic operations and product development. Prior to establishing his own ventures, he began his professional career in management consulting at McKinsey & Company, developing foundational expertise in corporate strategy. Transitioning into the technology sector as a serial entrepreneur, Shibata founded the retail technology enterprise Smapo, which achieved a successful exit through an acquisition by Rakuten. He also developed the mobile application Shoppi, which was ultimately acquired by the digital agency IMJ, demonstrating his capacity to build viable acquisition targets. Broadening his industry footprint, he later co-founded the financial technology platform Funds and the health technology venture Watashikampo. Shibata’s career is defined by a proven track record of establishing and scaling diverse technology startups across the retail, financial, and healthcare markets.
