Yizhen Dong

Yizhen Dong is a Partner at Global Founders Capital, where he leads early-stage investments in frontier biotechnology and artificial intelligence in healthcare. Before assuming his current position, he served as a Principal at 11.2 Capital, directing venture capital toward computational and synthetic biology startups. His prior corporate experience includes working as a management consultant at ZS Associates and developing marketing strategies at Roche and Genentech, where he helped launch the drug Avastin across two distinct cancer indications. Dong earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and graduated magna cum laude with an economics degree from Vanderbilt University, while also spending seven years working as a professionally trained sushi chef. He currently focuses his venture capital practice on funding early-stage innovations at the intersection of computational biology, neurotechnology, and medical robotics.
