Yida Gao

Yida Gao is the Founder and Managing General Partner of Shima Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm focused exclusively on cryptocurrency and Web3 technologies. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and later earned a Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Before launching his own investment vehicle, Gao began his traditional financial career on Wall Street, working as an investment banker in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at Morgan Stanley. More recently, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission filed a formal regulatory action against Gao and his venture firm regarding their internal operational practices.
