Yev Gelfand is currently an investor at Alumni Ventures, where he focuses on strategic venture capital investment allocations. Previously, he spent 15 years at BlackRock, where he operated as an internal innovator and seeded PennyMac Mortgage prior to its successful initial public offering. During his tenure, he helped found the Financial Markets Advisory group to advise the United States Treasury, and he subsequently grew the Risk Advisory practice from inception to over $1 trillion in assets under advisory. He also directed international expansion initiatives, notably scaling the firm's operations in India from 45 to 1,500 employees within a two-year period. Gelfand holds a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Biomedical Engineering from Yale University, alongside CFA and CAIA credentials. His professional background combines institutional risk management, global operational scaling, and early-stage financial innovation.
