Yanchuan Sim

Yanchuan Sim is the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer at Bot MD, an artificial intelligence healthcare technology startup based in Singapore. Prior to establishing the Y Combinator backed company in 2018, he worked as a Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning Scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research under A*STAR. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Language and Information Technologies from Carnegie Mellon University, where his academic research focused on computational linguistics, text analytics, and predictive machine learning algorithms. At Bot MD, Sim directs the core engineering and product teams in developing proprietary clinical chatbots that currently assist over 20,000 doctors and medical professionals across multiple hospitals in the Asia-Pacific region. His technical background effectively bridges advanced academic research in natural language processing with the commercial deployment of highly scalable clinical communication platforms for modern healthcare systems.
