Xavier Lorphelin is a Managing Partner and Co-founder at Serena Capital based in Paris, France. Before transitioning to venture capital, he worked in Silicon Valley at Flextronics managing Cisco production lines, bootstrapped the embedded software startup JSource, and co-founded the Parisian incubator Kangaroo Village in 2000. In 2008, he co-founded Serena Capital, which has since grown to manage over €1 billion in assets under management across a portfolio of nearly 100 companies. His extensive investment track record includes backing prominent European technology companies such as Dataiku, Launchmetrics, Alkemics, and The Fork. The firm recently closed its €200 million Fund IV to target early-stage investments ranging from pre-seed to Series A rounds. Lorphelin currently focuses his efforts on providing operational support to European founders operating within the applied artificial intelligence, climate technology, and enterprise software sectors.
