Xavier Lazarus

Xavier Lazarus is the co-founder and Managing Partner at Elaia Partners, a European venture capital firm. He began his career conducting mathematical research in the Arithmetics and Algebraic Geometry lab at Université Paris-Sud after earning a PhD and an Agrégation in Mathematics from École Normale Supérieure. Transitioning to the private sector, he founded an e-learning startup that was acquired by a French publisher in 1999. Following this exit, Lazarus joined CPR, which was later acquired by Crédit Agricole Indosuez, where he established and scaled a venture capital division dedicated to the software and internet sectors. Today, he leverages his dual background in advanced mathematics and entrepreneurial operations to direct fund strategy and manage portfolio investments. His current investment focus targets emerging technologies, specifically evaluating opportunities across machine learning, big data, digital media, and SaaS.
