William Chuang

William Chuang is a technology entrepreneur and current advisor at Recursion Pharmaceuticals who focuses on artificial intelligence applications in healthcare. Previously, he served as the co-founder and CEO of Atomwise from 2012 to 2021, where he pioneered machine learning for small molecule discovery, screened billions of compounds for COVID-19 therapies, and helped raise over $180 million in funding. Following this, Chuang was the co-founder and CEO of Isomorphic Labs, a Google DeepMind spinout dedicated to AI-driven drug design, leading the firm from 2021 until his departure in mid-2023. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, alongside both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Engineering in Computer Science, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His career centers on bridging computational biology with machine learning to advance therapeutic development and drug discovery pipelines.
