Weronika Slesak is the Co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of Evolvere Biosciences, an early-stage biotechnology company based in Oxford, United Kingdom. She graduated with an MBioChem in Biology from Oxford University, where her academic tenure included winning the 2021 Biotech Society Biohackathon, an achievement that secured three months of dedicated lab space and £1,000 in research consumables. Following this initial proof-of-concept phase, her three-person startup became a full resident at the BioEscalator facility and was subsequently selected to participate in the Y Combinator Summer 2024 accelerator batch. Prior to establishing her commercial enterprise, Slesak authored academic research publications focusing specifically on parasite evolution and evolutionary rescue mechanisms within biological systems. Her current professional focus centers on integrating artificial intelligence, protein engineering, and laboratory automation to discover next-generation therapeutics capable of outpacing bacterial antibiotic resistance.
