Wanyi Zhao

Wanyi Zhao is the Director of Vantage Futures, the corporate venture capital initiative of Vantage Group, based in Canada. Bringing over eight years of professional experience in private equity and venture capital, she previously served as an Investment Manager at BASF Venture Capital GmbH. During her tenure there, she directed deal sourcing, conducted rigorous due diligence, and executed strategic initiatives for investments across advanced industrial materials, 3D printing, biosynthesis, climate technology, and B2B SaaS. Her earlier financial career includes investment roles at TELUS Global Ventures and Prosnav Capital, complemented by a Master's in International Management from the Richard Ivey School of Business and an Honors Bachelor's degree from the University of Liverpool. Zhao currently focuses on overseeing the full investment lifecycle for innovative startups advancing sustainability, the future of mobility, and modern transportation infrastructure.
