Walter Kowtoniuk

Walter Kowtoniuk is a Venture Partner at Third Rock Ventures based on the East Coast of the United States. He originally joined the venture capital firm as an associate in 2013 and has since specialized in early-stage biotech company creation. Kowtoniuk notably served as the first employee at Fulcrum Therapeutics, where he architected the initial corporate strategy and helped scale the organization to approximately 50 employees before returning to his venture role. Additionally, he served as the Chief Operating Officer at MOMA Therapeutics, where he currently holds a board observer position, following his earlier tenure as a manager at Clarion Healthcare. He earned a doctorate in chemical biology from Harvard University and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from Gettysburg College. His current professional focus centers on translating complex genetics and genomics insights into precision medicines and patient-centric drug discovery.
