Waleed Latif

Waleed Latif is the Co-Founder and CTO of Sim Studio, an open-source AI agent workflow platform based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2025 alongside Emir Karabeg, the company has raised $7.5 million in total funding, including a $7 million Series A round, to support its eight-person team. Under his technical leadership, the platform has rapidly scaled to support over 70,000 developers and achieved 26,000 GitHub stars within its first eight months. Before launching Sim Studio, Latif engineered core backend infrastructure at Amazon Ring, where he developed systems capable of processing more than one million transactions per second. He previously studied Computer Science and Cognitive Science at UC Berkeley, leading engineering initiatives and publications for the university's neurotechnology research group. His current focus centers on bridging high-throughput production engineering with accessible visual interfaces for scalable AI infrastructure.
