Vyas Ramanan

Vyas Ramanan is a Venture Partner at Third Rock Ventures based on the East Coast of the United States. Since joining the venture capital firm in 2016, he has advanced through multiple investment roles, including serving as a Principal before his promotion to his current position in January 2024. Ramanan specializes in biotech company creation and currently serves as a board observer at Marea Therapeutics, having previously contributed to the launch of Maze Therapeutics and several other portfolio companies. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Medical Engineering and Medical Physics from the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology, alongside undergraduate and master's degrees in economics and bioengineering from the University of Pennsylvania. His professional focus centers on leveraging biological insights, genome editing, and drug discovery technologies to build early-stage therapeutics companies targeting serious diseases.
