Vlad Ilyushchenko

Vlad Ilyushchenko is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer of QuestDB, an open-source time-series database company based in London, United Kingdom. Prior to establishing the company, he spent over two decades working as a software engineer developing low-latency financial electronic trading systems using C++ between 1997 and 2019. Under his technical leadership, QuestDB has secured approximately $48 million in total funding, including a $37 million Series B round in April 2024, while accumulating over 20,000 stars on GitHub. He recently oversaw the launch of the platform's Enterprise Edition and directed its integration with Kubernetes for cloud-native deployments in late 2024. Additionally, he presented research on time-series optimization at the Data Council conference in April 2025. Ilyushchenko currently focuses on bridging traditional financial technology and modern data architecture by engineering high-performance infrastructure for real-time analytics.
