Vivek Aithal is the Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of MinusX, an artificial intelligence software startup currently based in San Francisco, California. Founded in 2024 alongside co-founder Sreejith Puthanpurayil, the two-employee enterprise is backed by Y Combinator and develops an in-browser AI data scientist designed to operate directly within existing analytics platforms like Jupyter and Metabase. Prior to launching this new venture, Aithal spent three years working as a Research Engineer at comma.ai, where he led technical research initiatives focused on developing advanced open-source autonomous driving agents. He completed his formal engineering education at two highly recognized academic institutions, earning technical degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. Aithal's current professional focus centers on engineering complex artificial intelligence systems, transitioning his expertise from autonomous vehicle navigation to specialized data science automation.
